Pfizer Email Marketing System
We were recently approached by an old customer with a new challenge. A business unit within Pfizer that handles internal communications wanted a way to measure the readership of their mass email communications. The project scope was for a system that could initially send 500,000 pieces of email per month, but could scale-up as needed. The system would record clicks of embedded links in addition to recording messages read. Also, there was a desire for simple, readable reports based on the data collected.
Manage Content chose a solution based on open source technology that was installed, configured, and then customized on-time and under-budget. Although the solution was based on open source technology, it integrated nicely with Pfizer's Microsoft Exchange environment and with Pfizer's proprietary Oracle demographic data system.
According to our client, the system has provided "real value" and will allow them to "ultimately. . . learn how to communicate more effectively via e-mail."
